Autopsy: The Last Hours Of Bob Marley examines the truth behind the reggae star’s death in 1981.

The singer was first diagnosed with a malignant melanoma on his foot in 1977. Doctors advised him to have his toe amputated but he declined for religious reasons.

His illness progressed and by 1980 the cancer had spread through his body and he died on May 11 1981 at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Miami.

Marley’s final words to his son Ziggy were reported to have been: “Money can’t buy life.”

The series examines celebrities whose deaths caused a scandal or were subject to huge media interest. Often the facts have become mixed up with conspiracy theories and the truth is hard to uncover.
