When Rodney Alcala Competed on ‘The Dating Game’, He Had Already Killed Two Women

Though we’re used to seeing creeps on dating shows like The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, they’re usually not criminals. But Rodney Alcala, the so-called “Dating Game Killer” was already a murderer at the time of his TV appearance. Now he’s back on TV, of sorts, thanks to two TV specials about his grisly crimes.

Alcala was cast Bachelor No. 1 on a 1978 episode of the ABC game show, introduced as a “successful photographer.” He ended up winning a date with that episode’s bachelorette, Cheryl Bradshaw, but she refused to go out with him afterward. “I started to feel ill,” she told The Sunday Telegraph in 2012. “He was acting really creepy. I turned down his offer. I didn’t want to see him again.”

What The Dating Game producers overlooked, however, was that Alcala had allegedly raped and beaten an 8-year-old girl a decade prior. (Prosecutors

Some Waco Survivors Await Cult Leader David Koresh’s Resurrection: ‘We Hope to See Him Again’

David Koresh was one of the most well-known cult leaders of the 20th century, amassing hundreds of followers as the leader of the Branch Davidian religious sect.

Still, many Americans heard his name for the first time in 1993, when federal authorities suspected his group of weapons violations, leading the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms to obtain a search and arrest warrant to raid their compound, the Mount Carmel Center, outside Waco, Texas.

That operation ended in gunfire — and the deaths of four government agents and six Branch Davidians.

For the next 51 days, the FBI and ATF engaged in a standoff with the compound, while news trucks recorded their every move. Finally, on April 19, 1993, the FBI launched an assault and initiated a tear gas attack, hoping to force the Branch Davidians out of their cover.

The Brutal Truth Behind The Manson Family Murder Of Actress Sharon Tate

Following cult leader Charles Manson’s orders, four members of the Manson family committed their most notorious and brutal crime on August 9, 1969.

In an attempt to ignite a race war, loyal Manson followers Tex Watson, Patricia Krenwinkel, Susan Atkis and Linda Kasabin showed up at the Los Angeles home of actress Sharon Tate.

Dressed in all black, the young killers approached the house where Tate, Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski and Steven Parent were staying.

18-year-old Parent was driving off in his parents’ car when Watson stopped him, threatening him with a gun, later to shoot him dead inside his vehicle.

Moments later, he and the rest of the murderous clan burst inside pregnant Tate’s house and stabbed the star to death despite her pleas to let her unborn child live.

With her blood, Atkins and the other wrote the word “Pig” on the kitchen door before

Mass Suicide: Inside Religious Cult Leader David Koresh’s Sick Crime

David Koresh – the American leader of the “Branch Davidians” religious sect – believed he was the final prophet, and convinced every one of his loyal followers to see him as an almighty ruler. He claimed to be a devout Christian, yet was accused of raping a twelve-year-old girl whom he called his “spiritual” wife.

Koresh led a dysfunctional group of naïve individuals to their deaths when his cult was raided by police in 1993. He was to be arrested for possession of firearms and explosives, as well as for having sex with underage girls. When confronted, however, he refused to come out of hiding, claiming that he’d rather kill himself and all his followers than turn himself in.
