Charles Manson Reenactment Video Is Laughably Horrible, But Still Terrifying

A Charles Manson reenactment video has been circulating on the Internet and the clip is laughably horrible. Despite the utter ridiculousness of the video, the recreated moment when the notorious murderer meets Sharon Tate is still quite terrifying.

The video comes via Reelz’ Murder Made Me Famous – Charles Manson. The TV special revisited a dark series of events that went down in 1969 when Charles Manson and his cult followers went on a killing spree.

The narrator of the video sets up the clip by saying:

“The house at 10050 Cielo Drive has just been vacated by Beach Boys producer Terry Melcher, the source of Manson’s frustrations. And in early 1969, Sharon and Roman move in. After the Polanskis move in, photographer Shahrokh Hatami is taking promotional photos of Sharon at the residence when they get a visitor.”

The reenactment of the encounter shows Manson trespassing on the Polanski property. When Hatami

Charles Manson’s Chilling Introduction to Sharon Tate Reenacted in ‘Murder Made Me Famous’ Sneak Peek

Reflecting on a dark series of events. Charles Manson and the Manson Family murders are revisited through expert analysis and reenactments on Reelz’ Murder Made Me Famous — Charles Manson, as seen in Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek.

The special, airing Saturday, January 14, takes a closer look at the convicted cult leader and his followers, who murdered multiple people in 1969, including 26-year-old pregnant actress Sharon Tate, the wife of film director Roman Polanski. The preview clip reenacts Manson’s first introduction to Tate when he was trying to track down Terry Melcher, a producer who was unable to successfully promote Manson’s hoped-for music career.

“The house at 10050 Cielo Drive has just been vacated by Beach Boys producer Terry Melcher, the source of Manson’s frustrations,” the clip’s narrator says. “And in early 1969, Sharon and Roman move in.”

“After the Polanskis move in, photographer Shahrokh Hatami is taking promotional photos of

Meet David Burkhart, the Latest Actor to Play Charles Manson

For an actor, some roles are harder than others.

It’s one thing to be a leading man in a romantic comedy. It’s another thing entirely to play Charles Manson, one of the most notorious killers in American history.

Just one day after Manson family member Leslie van Houten was denied parole, the Reelz Channel is tackling the famous case on the second season of the docuseries Murder Made Me Famous.

Actor David Burkhart was cast as Manson – and tells PEOPLE that the role was both challenging and dark.
